Project management
We can help you organise and structure your projects, and take responsibility for their implementation or assess their contribution to your strategic goals. The value of our involvement increases with the project's complexity. Our main instruments are Project Cycle Management and the Logical Framework Approach. We also provide training modules on the subject, usually in combination with an actual project to put the theory to immediate practice.
Project Cycle Management
PCM covers the whole cycle from project indentification to post-mortem evaluation. It is often forgotten that the actual implementation of the project is only a segment of this cycle:
- The enthusiasm to start the project often strains the preparation phase, leading to hasty project definition and ultimately to higher costs. Some projects are even carried out that should never even have started. In many cases, a thorough preparation can avoid this
- The final financial report is not the end of the project. An analysis of the project after its completion can shed light on many important issues for future projects and for the organisation. One may ask whether and why the project yielded the desired results, whether and why these results solve the original problem, and why this project again failed to stay within its budget
Logical Framework Approach
The LFA is a tool that helps define consistent and transparent projects where all activities ultimately support one strategic goal. The method allows the project's progress to be monitored easily. If used properly, it helps define the project in a flexible manner, allowing it to adapt to changes in environment or conditions.
